Valerie MacGregor

Valerie MacGregor is Chair of the Dominion Command Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, Chair of the Centenary Committee, a member of the Royal Canadian Ex-Services League (RCEL) Committee and the Going Forward Committee. She a member of the TVS Vancouver Branch #44 in British Columbia, where she serves as Immediate Past President and a member of the BSO-OSI Special Section.
- First joined the Legion in 2002, dedicating her service to her father, a Second World War Veteran.
- Past President of British Columbia/Yukon Command and Chair of the Legion Foundation BC/Yukon Command.
- Legion Branch roles over the years have included President, Vice-President, and several other positions such as Secretary, Treasurer and Deputy Zone Commander; as well as many committee roles at the Branch, Zone, Provincial and Dominion levels including Membership Chair and Public Relations Chair.
- Supports community youth development programs and is an ardent supporter of the perpetuation of Remembrance.
- Received the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation in 2012; the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.
- Community work has included Director at the New Chelsea Housing Society; President and Chair of the North Shore Candlelight Committee; Member of George Derby Care Society; Secretary George Derby Family Council and President of Highlands Out of School Daycare.
- Worked as a Certified Dental Assistant and was a dental management and business consultant.
- Married to husband Glen and has two children, Erin and Gavin and enjoys spending time with two grandsons, Franklin and Grant.
- Enjoys gardening, hiking, maintaining her 1928 family home in Burnaby, and exploring the West Coast in her family’s 1978 Vintage VW Van.
