Berkley Lawrence is Chair of several Dominion Command Committees including Veterans Services and Seniors, Going Forward, Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League. He is also Vice-Chair of the Legion’s Veterans Consultation Assembly. He is a member of Legion Branch 23 Carbonear, in Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • Local and regional roles have included Branch President, 1st Vice President, Sgt-at-arms, Honours and Awards Chair, Membership Chair, and Sports Chair.
  • Provincial roles have included President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, District Commander, Poppy and Remembrance Chair, Pilgrimage Selection Committee member, and Chair of the National War Memorial Restoration Committee.
  • Dominion Command roles have included 1st Vice President, Vice President, Poppy and Remembrance Chair and Vice-Chair, and member of several other operational committees. He also served as Local Arrangements Committee Chair for the 2016 Dominion Convention.
  • Served 33 years in the Royal Canadian Signals Corp, retired as a Master Warrant Officer.
  • Military duty included a 6 month tour in Bosnia Herzegovina, a 4 year posting in West Germany and a 3 year posting as a recruit/drill instructor at the Canadian Forces Recruit School in Nova Scotia, plus many other postings in Canada.
  • Awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the 75th Newfoundland and Labrador Anniversary Medal.
  • Married to Sarah, has three children, David, Michael and Teri, and six grandchildren. David is also in the Royal Canadian Signal Corp and currently posted in Edmonton.
  • Enjoys cruising, traveling the world, hunting and fishing, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels.
