The Royal Canadian Legion National Headquarters will have official photographers and social media professionals on site during the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships to capture athlete and event photographs and videos, and live stream events. Photographs and videos will be taken in public venues before, during and after events, and at Legion National sponsored team activities.
Photographs and videos may be made publicly accessible, and may be used without remuneration in any print, electronic and digital media to publicize and positively promote The Royal Canadian Legion and/or the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships.
Photographs and videos may be used for the following purposes:
To provide an archive of Legion National athlete and event photographs on The Royal Canadian Legion Flickr photo sharing platform for access by athletes, coaches, media and the public;
To promote the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships through print, promotional displays, social media, online marketing, email or other platforms;
To share live feed videos and photo highlights through the Legion Nationals social media platforms and The Royal Canadian Legion social media platforms (includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr);
To promote Legion Nationals and share highlights on The Royal Canadian Legion national website: Legion.ca;
To promote Legion Nationals in Legion member e-newsletters, public e-newsletters, and Legion Branch e-newsletters;
To promote Legion Nationals in media releases and third party publications.
The Legion will make every effort to ensure only positive images of athletes are shared or used for the purposes above. A parent, guardian or athlete may request to have their child’s (or their own) photo or video removed from public access and/or not used for promotional purposes. Requests may be made to the Legion Nationals Coordinator
The Royal Canadian Legion National Headquarters is not responsible for other organizations or individuals taking photographs or videos during Legion Nationals.
