Legion Supports Veterans Affairs Canada
Changes to Veterans Compensation

Patricia VargaOttawa – Gordon Moore, the Dominion President of The Royal Canadian Legion is pleased to support the changes announced today that will end the deduction of disability pensions from the income programs of our disabled Veterans helping to improve their financial security.

“We are happy with the announced changes today,” says Moore, speaking on behalf of the more than 330,000 member organization. “The Legion is encouraged that the Government has looked at the unfairness of these clawbacks and is now making it right for the men and women who have served our country. We hope that VAC will continue to review the income programs of our disabled Veterans whose injuries are attributable to their service to ensure fairness and equity,” he adds.

“As Canada’s leading Veterans service organization, the Legion will continue to seek further improvements to the financial compensation of our injured Veterans to enhance their life-long quality of life,” he concludes.
